என்றுணர்ந்த கஞ்சன் திருமாலால் தானிறப்போம்

The number 30 should be labelled (௩0) as much as
20 as (௨0 ) etc.,
These last few ones simply sparkle..

Very beautiful and erudite! The reference to lOkamAyA is too subtle and may need some explanations.

the latter may fit betterr! But the choice is yours.
The comparison with பத்தர் is very nice (suggestive of his salvation later!)

cml - thought about that. arakkarasan will fit not only rama but also narasimha. so i chose kurakkarasan to point specifically to rama avatharam.

There is a subtle difference..
HiraNya was an Asura whereas RavaNa was a Rakshasa (அரக்கன்).
Both are not the same!

cmlover - now you have made me curious to go readup on the subtleties. isn't ravana a brahmana (by birth) though - didn't rama perform some pariharam for brahmahatthi dosha?

Ravana was the son of Vishravas ( a brahmin - grandson of Brahma) through kaikesi (the daughter of thATakai, a rAkshasi). So he was a brahmin/rakshasa..
HiraNyakashipu was born Asura through the curse to Kashyapa and Diti(the mother of all Asuras); so he is brahmin/Asura....

quite a lot of itihasa information. so rama killed grandma & grandson with one arrow each

முச்செயலும் நின்செயலே மூவுலகும் நீயலையோ
நிச்சயமே நித்தியமே சத்தியமே – இச்சகத்தின்

...and don't forget the uncles (Maricha & Subahu) as well as brother (Kumbhakarna) and half brothers (Khara, Dushna) as well as son (Indrajit (by Lakshmana)) - basically the whole clan!

I am still struggling to get to the core idea of the following verses from http://vedabase.net/sb/10/2/en. Help much appreciated.

SB 10.2.27: The body [the total body and the individual body are of the same composition] may figuratively be called "the original tree." From this tree, which fully depends on the ground of material nature, come two kinds of fruit — the enjoyment of happiness and the suffering of distress. The cause of the tree, forming its three roots, is association with the three modes of material nature — goodness, passion and ignorance. The fruits of bodily happiness have four tastes — religiosity, economic development, sense gratification and liberation — which are experienced through five senses for acquiring knowledge in the midst of six circumstances: lamentation, illusion, old age, death, hunger and thirst. The seven layers of bark covering the tree are skin, blood, muscle, fat, bone, marrow and semen, and the eight branches of the tree are the five gross and three subtle elements — earth, water, fire, air, ether, mind, intelligence and false ego. The tree of the body has nine hollows — the eyes, the ears, the nostrils, the mouth, the rectum and the genitals — and ten leaves, the ten airs passing through the body. In this tree of the body there are two birds: one is the individual soul, and the other is the Supersoul.

SB 10.2.28: The efficient cause of this material world, manifested with its many varieties as the original tree, is You, O Lord. You are also the maintainer of this material world, and after annihilation You are the one in whom everything is conserved. Those who are covered by Your external energy cannot see You behind this manifestation, but theirs is not the vision of learned devotees.

It may be more accurate if you replace
மாமரத்தின் with சரீரத்தின் to refer to the host "total body"....
and சரீரம் is also கட்டை, symbolically the tree...

CML - சரீரத்தின் will not fit the thalai rules (காய் முன் நேர்)
