Thimma, if you have any recordings that can match the spell-binding appeal of this one please upload. Can't seem to get enough of it.

Picked up Jait First . Hopefully this will show how he retained the natya flavour while other greats like Mansoor , made a complete changeover. Though both of them started in dramas.
He has sung a lovely variant of Yaman Kalyan christening it Rajani Kalyan ( Raj Kalyan ?) ( drops out some note - Pancham ? )
The muse goes Hamaari aaraj suno . Who would not like to hear such entreaties...
Hamaari aaraj suno Deena Dayala Natha Dukha Bhanjana ... Wonder if he had his Guru Dinanatha Mangeshkar in mind ?

I love how the marAThi flavor comes through - 'mruga nayanA' not 'mRga nayanA', and 'mAnjula'...and here nATya is to be taken in the meaning of the nATya SAstra - i.e. dramaturgy, and not dance.
