Smt Sudha Ragunathan sang at the Pethachi Auditorium for Brahma Gana Sabha on Dec 5 2010.
Rasikas turned out in large numbers braving the heavy rain ..Salutations to the rasikas of music ..
Going to a Sudha concert in rain hoping to hear the Blind Monkey Song and arriving 5 minutes before the start of the concert is not the mark of a true rasika.
Nor is it going to a NithyaShriek concert with hopes of hearing the rasam song.
True rasikas lined up at 2:30 pm at the Chettinad Vidyashram just for a seat at the 6:30 pm concert of The Purveyor of Abhangs, even putting up with Sowmya's presentation of Utsava Sampradaya Krithis which would have soured their mood for "Madu Meikkum Kanne".
That is the mark of a true rasika of which we have plenty in Chennai!
These are the people you need to salute.
Sometimes, it represents the state of the individuals' mind...anyway, I think the sentiments in that lovely bhajan are rather similar to the sentiments of Sri OVK's in his 'kaNNai tirandupAr manamE'song Man ki Ankhen kholo (open the mind's eye)/blind monkey song.
