I am glad to share the news that 91-year-old Flute guru Mayavaram
Saraswathi Ammal has been honoured with a LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD,
(soon after being selected for the Sangeet NAtak Academy Puraskar
Award) in the music category, as a flutist and music guru - the
presentation was done in a live show, a star-studded event, near
Besant Nagar beach, held last sunday evening. Some of the other
awardees included people like Chitra (playback singer, Malayalam,.
Tamil) who received the award for 'singing', and other women achievers
from diverse fields.

This show, (or probably excerpts) the interviews with the awardees,
etc, would be
telecast on 8 th or 11 th Mar. First they had announced as 8 th as it
is the Women's Day. But now we hear that this has been rescheduled to
11 th - time not known yet ....but one can watch VIJAY TV's
announcements in the next few days to know this. (For people who are
able to receive VIJAY TV CHANNEL )
