A translation with some explanation would be appreciated. The "apparent" meaning is clear, but some references are not obvious.
e.g. the word bhAvimarutara

kanDe kanDe rAjara kanDe kanDe[p]
kanDe kanDenu karuNaniDHiyanu karagaLanjali *lADi* mugivenu
lanDa mAyigaLa gunDi oDeyaluddanDa mArutipadake baruvana[ap]
panca vrindAvanadi mereyuva pancabANana pitana smarisuva
pancanandana munde Aguta mincinandadi poLeva mahimana[c1]
*panka* pAtaka kalEva dEvana pankajAriniBhEnduvaktrana

Bhajisuvavarige BhAgya koDuvana rujugaNEShamarEndravandita
nija purandara viTTalEShana Bhajane mADuva BhAvimarutara[c3]

A small correction::It is *mADi* in the first line of [a.p]

another correction::It is *panca* in [c1]

Saw I saw The King, saw saw.[p]

I have seen the treasure trove of kindness,I will fold my palms and bow in veneration

He has assumed the shape of the mighty mAruti,

to crush the hearts of the wretched and unkind.[ap]

He is shining in the five brindavanas,He meditates on the Father of Cupid

He helped the five sons[pAnDavas] henceforth,He shines like the lightening,He is Supreme[c1].

He is the God, removes the five deadly sins. He has a face like the moon

To those who sing His glory without fear,He will clear all doubts,He is the Lord of Shankara.[c2]

He will grant boons to those,who pray to him,He is revered by the righteous gaNESha,Indra the king of Gods

Saw the future Brahmas,singing His glory,He is the true purandara viTTalESha[c3]

******************************

Located close to the famous Nanjundeswara Temple, is the Sri Raghavendra Swamy Matha which is also called as a Prateeka Sannidhi (where one can find an image of Sri Raghavendra Swamy instead of the usual Brindavana). The Moola Brindavanas (mortal remains) of 5 saints belonging to the Raghavendra Swamy Mutt lineage known as Pancha Brindavana are also worshipped here.

I think Purandara dasaru referred to BhAvimarutaru,because it is said that there are many brahmas. Each Brahma has got his life cycle and after him another Brahma will take over. He might have used BhAvi,[future] in this context.

Thanks for the explanations especially on the Brahmas. One presumes that the moon is considered the rival to a lotus (pankajAri).

Yes.It is said that the lotus blooms with the sunrise and closes with the sunset.
The moon rise does not make the lotus bloom. So the moon is considered to be
the enemy of the lotus.Somewhere I had read about a bee in search of honey,
entering the lotus and intoxicated by the honey getting entrapped as the sun
sets and the lotus closes. It waits and waits for the sun to rise and flies away
once the sun rises and the lotus opens.

Pankajapta: = Sun, friend of lotus ; Pankajaari: = moon ( as enemy of lotus ) while the moon is the friend of the lily.

After this cycle of the four yugas is over, it is very much believed that Hanuman will take over as the next Brahma. Especially so since he has got the viswarupa guNa in him. He is revered as " HanumatbrahmaNe namaha " . Lord Rama does not have viswarupa guNa. This is just like one cabinet of ministers goes and another takes over.

Some of the members of the new cabinet likely to take over the posts mentioned against them are :

Yudhisthira --> Yama ( Lord of justice with his office in hell )
Bheema --> Vaayu ( God of wind )
Arjuna --> Indra
Nakula & Sahadeva --> divine physicians Ashwini Kumars'
Nala & Neela ( from Ramayana ) --> Vishwakarma & Mayashilpi
Bheeshma --> Daksha prajapati
Surabhi ( cow ) --> Kamadhenu , etc.

Any guess as to who will take the place of Saraswathy in the proposed cabinet?

The posts of Shiva, Vishnu, Saraswati , Ganesha , Subrahmanya, Narada and their consorts and vaahanas are statutory primordial posts which can never fall vacant. :)

If you were contemplating to contest for Saraswati's post , better forget it !! :))
