A translation with some explanation would be appreciated. The "apparent" meaning is clear, but some references are not obvious.

Located close to the famous Nanjundeswara Temple, is the Sri Raghavendra Swamy Matha which is also called as a Prateeka Sannidhi (where one can find an image of Sri Raghavendra Swamy instead of the usual Brindavana). The Moola Brindavanas (mortal remains) of 5 saints belonging to the Raghavendra Swamy Mutt lineage known as Pancha Brindavana are also worshipped here.

I think Purandara dasaru referred to BhAvimarutaru,because it is said that there are many brahmas. Each Brahma has got his life cycle and after him another Brahma will take over. He might have used BhAvi,[future] in this context.

Thanks for the explanations especially on the Brahmas. One presumes that the moon is considered the rival to a lotus (pankajAri).

Yes.It is said that the lotus blooms with the sunrise and closes with the sunset.
The moon rise does not make the lotus bloom. So the moon is considered to be
the enemy of the lotus.Somewhere I had read about a bee in search of honey,
entering the lotus and intoxicated by the honey getting entrapped as the sun
sets and the lotus closes. It waits and waits for the sun to rise and flies away
once the sun rises and the lotus opens.

Pankajapta: = Sun, friend of lotus ; Pankajaari: = moon ( as enemy of lotus ) while the moon is the friend of the lily.

After this cycle of the four yugas is over, it is very much believed that Hanuman will take over as the next Brahma. Especially so since he has got the viswarupa guNa in him. He is revered as " HanumatbrahmaNe namaha " . Lord Rama does not have viswarupa guNa. This is just like one cabinet of ministers goes and another takes over.

The posts of Shiva, Vishnu, Saraswati , Ganesha , Subrahmanya, Narada and their consorts and vaahanas are statutory primordial posts which can never fall vacant.
