InriDum ~ one who grants (gives) (ee - means to give, the same meaning as in Telugu!)

un porp-pAdam ~ your golden (pon) feet

ighattil --................[in this world/universe ??] yes in this world
(as in iha; usually iha param are used together to denote this and the other world)

niddamOdam --................could be as Keerthi says...I'm unable to parse/translate this. I thought "nidam Odum" (praying daily) could be a possibility too but ."taruvAi" doesn't fit with "nidam Odum".

It is vandu + aNugAmal

vandu = to come
aNuga / aNugudal = to approach, to near something (aNmai = nearness, proximity)
aNugAmal = without approaching/ without causing to approach

Also, akkAlattilum = "at that time" (not "this time")...most probably refers to the final moments of one's life (ensure that in my final moments no distress comes to me).

I'm reminded of "appOdaikku ippOdE solli vaittEn", a popular phrase among vaishnavaites - in one's final moments it may be difficult to think of the Lord, so it makes sense to make all one's entreaties to Him (perform surrender/ SaranAgati) now itself

The "kala" - time line terms were a hit or miss thing, spinning my wildest guesses. I tried. Seems like booking your seat early is the way to get a berth...

idu taruNamid(u)en kavalai tIrtt(u)aLi nin prasAdam

This (emphasized by repeating 'idu' twice, I presume) is the time (taruNam) for you to put an end (tIrttu) to my worries (kavalai) and grant (aLi) me your (nin) blessing.

nidamodam is nidam+mOdam = joy/bliss/intoxication (mOdam) forever/continually/daily (nidam)

And yes, akkAlattilum is 'even at that (a/anda) time (kAlattilum) of reckoning'.....

In the version of this song I have heard, the AP was sung as 'akkAlattilum avastai vandaNugAmal mukkAlattilum yennai rAkshippAi mInAkshi sAkshi'

I think vEdapurISvari in this composition refers to mangayarkkarasi ambAl, the consort of vEdapurISvarar in tiruvEDikkuDi in tanjAvUr.

Having watched (pArttu) as I (nAn) became (Anadai) an ignorant/vile person (pAmaran) after having been born (pirandu) on this earth (pAril), is it too much of a burden (bhAramA) for you to change/remove (mATRa) my (enadu) grief/sorrow (tuyaram)? Oh dEvi who is better than the best (parAtpari), please be patient (nidAni) with me, and partial (paksham vaittu) [1] to me as you bless me (aruL).

[1] The composer is asking for the dEvi to be partial to him (taking his side), because he feels that he will never be able to meet the bar to be eligible to be saved by her, and is requesting her indulgence in lowering the bar for him - it can also be interpretted as 'showing/extending (vaittu) your affection/kindness (paksham) for me'
