There is a famous jathiswaram in ragamalikai/m.chapu known to dancers. It is a composition of the Thanjavur quartette... or so I thought, until I heard this:

The jatisvaram in question is in the book "Tha Tanjore Quartette" by K.P.Kittappa & K.P.Sivanandam.
I think many of the tanjai nAlvar's compositions are attributed to ST.

In a book written by Smt. Mrinalini Sarabhai (Darpana Publication) on bharatanATyam, she mentions that Sri Swati Tirunal composed in hindi, malayalam, telugu, tamizh and marAThi.

Can we have examples of his compositions in tamizh and marAThi?

In compilations of ST's songs, are included songs composed by scholars he patronised; and some of these may have been in TamiL and marAThi..

1. TKGovinda rao's book gives a TamiL varNaM - sAmi unnaiyE nAn migacvum nambinEnE.. couldn't find any marAthi..

MuhanaprasAntyaprAsa vyavastha is a sanskrta work on prosody attributed to Swati Tirunal.
It deals with the alankaras of muhana, prasa and antyaprasa in musical compositions in sanskrta. The examples that are cited in this work are from the compositions of mArgadarshi seShayyangar (introduced in the first paragraph as 'Sesha ramanuja kavi). And this work also provides us a source to validate and identify some of seShayyangar's compositions.

Thanks to Dr.P.P.Narayanaswami for making this work available. (A translation effort is underway and will be made available soon)

dear madams and sirs, I think T K Govinda Rao's "Compositions of Maharaja Swathi Thirunal " is an authority and contains almost all the compositions of the genius in detail written in the language of that particular composition, Engilish and in Sanskrit
